Polyethylene is the most commonly used plastic.
Since 2017, over 100 million tonnes of polyethylene resins have been produced annually, representing 34% of the total plastics market.
Its main use is packaging (plastic bags, plastic films, geomembranes, containers, including bottles, etc.).
Many types of polyethylene are known, most of which have the chemical formula (C2H4) n. PE is usually a mixture of similar polymers of ethylene with different values. Polyethylene is a thermoplastic material; however, after modification it may become a thermosetting patch.
Polyethylene sheets are usually semi-transparent, waxy flexible and thermoplastic.
Polyethylene sheets have dimensions of 200 x 100 cm, available in neutral (white – yellowish), black and in colors.
